The London Drug and Alcohol Network aims to:1. Provide independent and expert advice to member agencies, commissioners and other stakeholders through: - A comprehensive service database
- A web-site with interactive capacity for member participation
- A monthly newsletter in paper or electronic format
- Policy and Practice briefings on issues of importance to the alcohol, drugs and related fields
2. Support member agencies in providing cost-effective high quality services, that are user-focused, by: - Promoting equality and consistency in service provision
- Supporting the development of services that are relevant to all Londons communities
- Enabling services to respond effectively to diverse and changing needs
- Advocating for the importance of the users voice and facilitating user involvement in service
development through:
- Seminars
- Conferences
- Membership network meetings
- Training
- Supporting service user networks
3. Actively engage policy and decision makers, seeking influence and investment in services, by: - Ensuring that drug and alcohol service interests are represented in London and national forums
- Ensuring that drug and alcohol issues are represented on wider social agendas such as social exclusion and regeneration
- Building strategic cross-sectoral collaboration with other sectors such as homelessness
- Acting as the first point of contact for policy and decision makers and the media in London
